💔 The Reality of Burnout in Education

I’ve experienced burnout more than once in my teaching journey — and if I’m being honest, I’m walking through it right now.

My first real season of burnout hit in 2020. I was working at a faith-based preschool, trying to keep up with new COVID protocols while also meeting the everyday demands of teaching young children. I believed I had to give everything: stay late, show up extra early, take work home, go above and beyond every single day.

I longed to be noticed — to be named Teacher of the Month, to feel appreciated, to hear someone say, “You’re doing a great job.”

But that recognition never came. And instead of feeling successful, I felt invisible.

Burnout settled in where joy used to live.

I believed the lie: “Good teachers never rest.”

But the truth is: Good teachers must rest.

And we can’t do it without God’s grace.

This is why I started this blog — to share my journey of finding rest, healing from burnout, and encouraging other educators who feel like they’re barely holding it all together.

Because you don’t have to hustle your way to being “enough.”

You already are — in Him.
